Oved Rico

Born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, Oved is a graduate of the Yale School of Music, where he was a student of William Purvis. An established chamber musician, Oved has performed at concert series for the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle, as well as the Norfolk Chamber Festival. Oved is a founding member of ZaRiah.

He has performed with multiple ensembles including the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, and Chelsea Symphony Orchestra. A versatile musician, he was the hornist on the 2nd National Tour of Anastasia the Musical performing in major cities including Austin, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, and Santa Barbara.

Most recently, Oved was named a finalist in the Sphinx Orchestral Partners Association Excerpt Competition receiving the Most Outstanding Instrumentalist award in the Horn Category.

Along with performing, Oved is an avid educator. He has often appeared as the brass coach for the Worcester Youth Orchestra, and most recently lead the brass of the WYSO on a international tour in Europe. He was also the winds sectional coach at the Campamento Musical Juvenil in Panama City, Panama in 2018 and 2019.

Oved received a Bachelors of Music from Oberlin Conservatory studying under Jeff Scott and Roland Pandolfi.
