We possess a strong belief in the creation and performance of new music.

Through our Commission Project, we are working with various composers to create new works for the woodwind quintet that explore various aspects of American culture and the landscape of our society as it exists today. With three of our members being first-generation college students and three members being from the rural south, ZaRiah is dedicated to increasing music accessibility in underserved communities. It is through our collaborations with composers that we can reflect where we come from with new music. By contributing to the ever-evolving landscape of the wind quintet repertoire, we hope to create belonging for and within our communities.
